White
There are several different styles of White ports associated to different degrees of sweetness, the minimum allowed for sugar content is 17,5 grs/ltr for the extra dry and 140 grs/ltr for the Lágrima, the sweetest White variation.
White Port Wine is an excellent aperitif, with an average of three years of aging, balanced sweetness. It reveals its fruity component when served very chilled.
White port wines present a white pale and golden color with fresh and fruity aromas.
In addition to traditional White Ports there are those with a very refined nose and enormous complexity, with a nutty, amber color, like the aged Whites (10y, 20y and 40y) or the rare Dalva Colheitas from 1952, 1963 and 1971. (For more information look under AGE DESIGNATION menu)
