Gran Cruz Porto acquires Quinta de Ventozelo

Gran Cruz Porto acquired the agricultural society Quinta do Ventozelo, owner of one of the oldest and largest Estates in the Douro region, with about 400 hectares, of which 200 are vineyard and 30 hectares are olive trees.

Located on the left bank of the Douro, in Ervedosa do Douro, municipality of S. João da Pesqueira, it develops a broad amphitheater from the river quota up to 600 meters altitude, intersected by several rivers.

This acquisition consolidates the presence of Gran Cruz in the Douro still wines and on Port wines, which already counted on its corporate with some companies: C. da Silva, Companhia União dos Vinhos do Porto e Madeira, Vale de S. Martinho and Gran Cruz Turismo, having already Justino’s Madeira Wine and Henriques & Henriques.

Although Gran Cruz has been managing the vines of Quinta Ventozelo’s, since 2011, this acquisition allows better control of entire production process and all the qualitative potential of this propert, ystrengthening the group's position in the premium segment of Porto Wines and Douro still wines.
