Taxi drivers receive training about Port Wine

The taxi drivers serving Francisco Sá Carneiro´s airport, in Oporto, are receiving a training about Port Wine provided by the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Oporto.

This training has started in the past 2 of March, with a timetable between 09.00 a.m. and 13.00 p.m.
The information is comprehensive, the different types of Port, the demarcated Douro Wine Region and the relationship of Port Wine to the city, pairing suggestions, how to taste, the right temperature...

In fact the taxi drivers are the first contact that tourists have when they arrive to town, suggesting and showing interest to the most prestigious product in Portugal will undoubtedly increase the enthusiasm of the visitor.

"Welcome by taxi" is a project led by Turismo de Portugal, through the School of Hospitality and Tourism, in partnership with the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro and Porto (IVDP) and the Municipality of Porto.

After the first training for taxi drivers in Oporto city, another one will occurs for taxi drivers in the Douro region, provided by the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Douro, part of "Welcome to Douro by taxi" program, in order to improve the service provided to a type of tourism that has been growing more and more.
